Last day to Order RockStar Weekly is 1/31/10

Adam Lambert Magazine Pages Revealed

We know the anticipation is building with Adam Lambert fans and we are excited to reveal two of the pages from the RockStar Weekly Adam Lambert Special Edition Fan Magazine. Pre-orders for the magazine will stop on January 31, with only a few copies remaining. Any copies available after January 31 will be sold in a first-come-first served basis and will no longer be available once all remaining copies are sold. The PayPal link on the RockStar Weekly website will be removed once all copies are sold.

Adam had a chance to look at the cover when he recently appeared on MuchMusic in Canada and one of our featured fans, Jamie Lynn Smith, had the chance to show it to him on live television. A photo is at the end of this article.

This limited collector's edition 16-page publication will only be available through mail-order and will not be sold in stores anywhere. The cover will be printed on extra heavy 80lb glossy paper and will be laminated to present the look and feel of a tour book. The inside will be printed with 70lb bright white stock.

The magazine will feature several articles about the fans, including a featured article on Steven Fudd, as well as a stunning three-page inspirational article, written by the one writer that has captured the hearts of Adam Lambert fans around the world - Lori Atkinson-Leung (or as she is known on Twitter - @feetchick). We have also reproduced the Adam Lambert For Your Entertainment CD cover photo with a model chosen by a local casting call. This lucky model received the full hair and make-up treatment that Adam uses on the CD cover.

Here's a short excerpt from Lori's inspiration article:

Our quest to discover Adam Lambert’s most dedicated fans led us to a diverse following of deeply-inspired individuals who not only recognize Adam as a 360-degree artist and masterful entertainer, but also as a role model whose character has transformed their lives in profound ways. Adam’s spectacular, wide-ranging vocals, which gloriously conquer seemingly any musical genre, attract fans like Michael Perlman. “He has a captivating voice, an extensive vocal range, and great charismatic performances, which mesmerize the public, and leave all generations spellbound,” he says.

Etty Payne agrees: “Adam doesn’t just sing his songs… he appears to live each one. I truly admire the emotion, energy and complete truth he injects into every word he sings. It’s extremely rare to hear someone sing with as much authenticity as Adam.”

The glam-rocker’s joyous surrender and powerful passion when performing and his undeniable ability to stir raw emotions while conjuring rich, original song interpretations forges strong connections with fans, motivating them to actively pursue their own dreams.

There are only two ways to order the Adam Lambert Ultimate Fan Edition. You can order through PayPal or you can send a money order to our office. All orders processed through PayPal are protected by PayPal's protection policies and will guarantee that a copy will be held for you. Orders received by money order will be processed once the money order is received and has cleared through our financial institution.

Copies of the magazine are available for $12 (US) each and includes regular postal shipping anywhere in the world. There will be no other charges for shipping or handling - you pay only $12 for the magazine to be delivered to your door. The magazine will ship from our printer in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada the first week of February to potentially arrive at your door by Valentine's Day (we can not guarantee that it will arrive by Valentine's Day, but we will make every effort on our part to ensure it ships in the first week of February). For those that might be curious, the magazine will not be shipped with a sticker slapped on it. It will come in either an envelope or plastic package to ensure the mailing system does not mark it or get it dirty.

To order, simply use the PayPal link at the top right hand side of any page on the RockStar Weekly website. You can also send your money order for $12 per issue, payable to RockStar Weekly, to the following address:

RockStar Weekly
8123 - 112A Street

The first of the two page layouts is the Tribute to Terri page with a beautiful image from Audrey Wilmot on the inside front cover and the first of the three page Inspiration story.

Lambert Mania' Hits Fantasy Springs Casino

Posted: Jan 29, 2010 02:31 PM
By Erik Sandoval, KESQ.com Digital Content Directoresandoval@kesq.com

INDIO - Fans lined up outside Fantasy Springs Casino on Friday wanting to get their hands on tickets to see "American Idol" castaway Adam Lambert.

At noon, casino officials told News Channel three that nearly one-third of the seats were sold as phone started ringing last night.  One call came from Taiwan.

People started lining up as early as 6am to get tickets, this morning.  One woman drove from Orange County, another from San Diego.

The hotel has already sold out its rooms for the weekend, according to Ciara Green.

"This kind of response to an artist slated to perform at Fantasy Springs has never happened," Green said, adding that fans will be flying in from all over the world to attend the concert.
It's also a trending topic on social media sites like Twitter, where avid fans are quick to point out today is also Adam Lambert's birthday.

Fantasy Springs management says no artist has received so much attention in such a short amount of time before at their concert venue.

Adam Lambert appears there on February 27 at 8pm.

Adam Spills Birthday Secrets

Adam Lambert Spills Birthday Secrets

Adam Lambert turns 28 today and ET is celebrating with the 'American Idol' runner-up and ET's Grammy fashion critic.
Adam, who will join ET at the Grammys on Sunday to count down the best and worst fashions, shared his plans for his birthday and ET's Kevin Frazier gave him some birthday cupcakes.

"I'm throwing my own party for myself and my friends," Adam divulges. "So I have about 170 people that I've met and I'm inviting them."

"I'm spending a pretty penny on this thing, so, buying drinks for everybody, open bar, some food ... DJ," Adam told Kevin, saying that with his busy schedule, he's just really looking forward to catching up with friends he doesn't get to see very often.

The celebration may continue, Adam says: "I might take a little vacation here in a week or so -- I might have some time off and I might go down to a resort or something."
Kevin cautions Adam that he better be ready for Sunday, because Kevin jokes he's sending all the bad outfits to Adam on the Grammys red carpet! Watch the video for more with Adam and Kevin!

I Just Can't Get Enough

Adam Lambert Talks....

Adam Lambert talks sex, singing and nail polish

In Toronto to promote his new album, everyone’s favourite runner-up takes time to share his style secrets with Ben Kaplan over a manicure.

Ben Kaplan, National Post  Published: Wednesday, January 27, 2010

"I think people take sex too seriously," Adam Lambert says as we lean back in our chairs at the hair salon while two gorgeous women futz with our nails. "It's really not that big a deal."

Lambert has become a big deal since he was introduced on last year's American Idol. With his guyliner and Adam Ant hair, Lambert, the runner-up on one of the most popular TV shows of all time, became as well known for his theatrics as for his voice.

"I wear nail polish regularly, but the makeup is for special occasions," says Lambert, who, in his black clothes, heavy makeup and silver necklaces, looks a bit like Captain Jack Sparrow auditioning for True Blood. "I love Lady Gaga, not only because she's a great writer and singer, but she's a performance artist and a club kid. I like that."

In Toronto to talk up For Your Entertainment, his debut gold record released in November, Lambert comes across as nonchalant, friendly and keen to keep his fame in perspective.

After all, he was an understudy in a production of Wicked before hearing the siren call of reality TV. From the outset, the singer was mindful of how he came across on television.

"I like playing dress-up, I like going out, I like taking pride in how I look," he says, citing David Bowie, Boy George, Mötley Crüe and Michael Jackson as influences. "My look is androgynous and over-the-top, but makeup and nail polish are just part of the story. Musicians used to want to feel sexy, I honestly don't know what changed."

I can report that the gun metal nail polish actually does make me feel sort of sexy - though it's a look better suited to the Grammy Awards, where Lambert will act as a fashion consultant for Entertainment Tonight, than the produce department at your local No Frills, but Lambert insists nail polish is just a cool shirt for your hands.

"People assume if you're wearing nail polish you're gay, but I know more straight dudes that wear makeup and nail polish than I know gay guys who do," says Lambert, whose sexuality became a topic of debate during the run-up to last year's Idol finale. Whether or not Lambert was gay was discussed on the cover of Entertainment Weekly before the singer finally announced he was on the cover of Rolling Stone.
"I've been out since I was 18, [so] it was funny to me: ‘He came out,' I've been out, yo," says Lambert, adding that the only reason he didn't tell the world prior to his Rolling Stone cover is that American Idol forbids its final 13 contestants from talking to the press until the winner is announced. "Did you see what I did on the show? I was in rhinestones and glitter platform boots; if that doesn't say it, I don't know what could."

Lambert has been an outspoken provocateur since American Idol gave him a platform. The singer sparked a controversy with his performance at November's American Music Awards, where a portion of his choreography mimed oral sex.

"Not to criticize him, but Eminem's song actually says the Slim Shady character had 17 rapes. That's OK to talk about, but the minute someone in a choreographed way stimulates a sex act, that's the outrage?" Lambert asks. "I know it's a taboo because I'm a gay guy, but I'm not going to perform any differently than how I want to. Believe me, I'm not going to make anyone's children anything different than what they already are."

Lambert will turn 28 on Friday. And even though the manicurists motions to me that I can come back later and have my gun metal paint removed, I opt to keep it. I'm looking forward to showing the look off to my wife.

'American Idol:' Adam Lambert nearing gold status

January 27, 1:01 PM TV Examiner Matt Carter

Adam Lambert's "For Your Entertainment" debuted with a bang, and now the "American Idol" runner-up is getting ever closer to having his debut album certified gold. The latest sales numbers are in courtesy of Nielsen SoundScan, and it's certainly enough to make fans of Adam celebrate.

"For Your Entertainment" was the top-selling album of any "Idol" alum last week, bringing in 20,000 copies compared to 18,000 for Carrie Underwood and 5,000 for Kris Allen. That puts Adam's disc at 477,000 albums sold, meaning that he will likely hit the milestone sometime in early February. A number of things could cause sales to fluctuate before then, including airplay, promotion, and public perception.

Adam has spent most of this week so far promoting his album in Canada, but he will once again be a presence in America this weekend as a correspondent for the Grammy Awards. Will it lead to more album sales? Considering that he will be on "Entertainment Tonight" at least one night next week (and maybe more), it is fairly likely.

Are you happy that Adam Lambert is nearing the milestone? Let me know your thoughts with a comment! Check back soon for more "American Idol" news, including Adam's movement on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Whataya Want From Me."

The fashion risk-taker and "American Idol" finalist will join our Kevin Frazier on the red carpet on Sunday at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards as ET's special fashion correspondent!

"I'll be ok," he jokes about his new role. "I love clothes, I love fashion. I pay attention to that stuff. I'm a big fan of most of the people that will be there."
But will he be able to honestly critique the red carpet fashions? "I'm overly honest, so that will probably show through. I won't be mean though. I'm not mean."

Adam Lambert: Get the birthday cake ready

Singer-songwriter-actor turns 28 on January 29
By Valerie Sher

San Diego’s Adam Lambert turns 28 on January 29, which is something to celebrate. Someone should give him a sparkly, blue-gold cake with a picture of his face on it, complete with cocoa-based eye shadow and dark chocolate guyliner.

His birthday is also a good reason to look back and see how much has happened in the last year to the singer-songwriter-actor who grew up in Rancho Peñasquitos and became the Season 8 runner-up on “American Idol.”

As Oprah Winfrey recently said, “This time last year, most people had never heard of Adam Lambert.”

Unless they’ve spent time on another planet, they’ve heard of him now.
After TV appearances, recordings and magazine spreads as well as accolades and controversy, Adam is not just a performer but a genuine celebrity, whose identify is rooted in pop culture.

See the complete SDNN Adam Lambert collection  How far has he ventured? An extraordinarily long way.

Adam Lambert talks about his fashion inspirations in issue #17 of “Vman” magazine, which is set to hit newsstands on Thursday.

He is featured in the publication’s “How To Dress Like A Pop Star” section and he spoke about where he finds his inspiration.

He said, “What I do has been done before. It’s glam. I’m inspired by the ’70s and ’80s. Bowie is a huge influence. So are hair bands. Why must a crazy look necessarily be gay? Our society is more fearful, I guess. And they don’t party enough. Everyone was partying in the ’80s.”

Adam will be serving as a fashion correspondent for Entertainment Tonight’s Grammy coverage on February 1st.

Adam Interview CBS News

Adam Lambert wants to keep the party going

'Have a goal, have a focus'

Last Updated: Monday, January 25, 2010 | 4:01 PM ET

Adam Lambert is a year into the wild ride that began when he emerged out of the pack on American Idol last January.

The guy who parlayed a runner-up finish into an album deal and a reputation for creating controversy was in Toronto on Monday to promote his album, For Your Entertainment.

In an interview with CBC's Q cultural affairs show, Lambert said he is heeding some advice from Madonna about fame.

"She said, 'You really have to keep your eye on the prize and put your blinders up,'" Lambert said. "Don't get sidetracked by what the press is saying about you and what message boards are saying about you and this and that.... Have a goal, have a focus and just stay tuned in on that."

Lambert and Madonna share a piano teacher and he wangled an introduction to her shortly after he came out as gay on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
Lambert has no regrets about anything he's done in the last year — certainly not about his aggressively sexual image.

Not even about his controversial American Music Awards performance, which offended many viewers with its simulation of oral sex.

'Just going with it'

"I own what I did. I take responsibility for it. When I've made last-minute impulsive choices in the past I've had good experiences and I was just going with it," Lambert said. "It was a polarizing performance, which is kind of what I did on Idol."

Lambert's father was a Grateful Dead fan and former college DJ with a huge record collection, while his mother loved Al Green and other soul artists. He loves the music of the '70s and says he wants to project that same "sense of freedom of expression and diversity" in his own music. When he thinks about his goals, it's mostly about "keeping the party going."

He freely admits the pace of the last year has left him little time to think about creative direction.
"On the good end of it, the momentum didn't die. I got off the show, immediately started writing and working with producers, did the tour, continued recording during that, and then two months after the tour put the album out," he says of For Your Entertainment.
"There was really no chance for me to think too hard. It was kind of like just go, take action."
He wanted the same kind of variety on the album that he expressed on Idol, moving from ballad to rock to dance pop.

"I try to stay true to all the things that I like about music as a listener. I wanted to nod to all the classic rock stuff that I did on Idol and not disappoint those fans, but I wanted to somehow fuse it and blend it into contemporary dance pop which is the stuff I actually listen to more of," Lambert said.

He is embracing his new life with gusto, thinking about promoting the album, making music videos and perhaps trying his hand at singing some Freddie Mercury, as Justin Timberlake recently suggested to him. "There are projects I want to work on," he said. "But ultimately just going for the ride and being in the moment is the most important thing."

Lambert spent three months in Toronto a few years ago, in a production of Wicked. This time around, he's promoting the album and appearing on MuchMusic.
