In 2009: Lambert might not have won "American Idol," but he certainly had everyone talking. Whether he was coming out on the cover of Rolling Stone or making no apologies for his controversial AMA performance, Lambert eclipsed his fellow "Idol" alumni. He also released his debut album, For Your Entertainment, and had a single on the "2012" soundtrack, "Time for Miracles."
Why He'll Be Huge in 2010: He will release his music video for "Whataya Want From Me" on Friday and is already planning out his next moves, including a tour this year. Plus, he's even hoping he might get a call and find himself on the "Eclipse" soundtrack.
Choice Quote: "Right after 'Idol,' [I didn't know what to do] because that's when we started planning the album. And I was just like, 'I don't really know what direction I need to go in. I don't know if I should be doing straight-up rock music, because I got a lot of my cred on "Idol" doing '70s rock, or if I should be doing the electro-pop dance stuff that I love, that I listen to now,' " he explained about his post-"Idol" identity crisis. "I couldn't decide: Do I do what I love to listen to or what I'm best at?"
